Common Homeowner Mistakes

It is not uncommon for a home to suffer some kind of water damage. In fact, 70% of homes in America have suffered or will suffer water damage.  Many times homeowners make the mistake of trying to "take care of it" themselves.  They pull out the pad or just pull back the carpet, put some fans on it, and in about a week its dry so they figure they're safe. WRONG. On 90% of water damage calls there is some sort of moisture found in the baseboard or drywall in the affected areas. Homeowners rarely think about the fact that the drywall will act like a sponge and soak up any moisture it comes in contact with.  Then, a few weeks or even a few months down the line they notice a smell and call a professional restoration company. Upon inspection of the damaged area mold is found either in the wall cavity, on the drywall, or on the back of the baseboard.  Now instead of paying a couple thousand dollars in water damage restoration, (assuming the loss wouldn't be covered by homeowners insurance) they are forced to pay tens of thousands of dollars in mold remediation (mold remediation is rarely covered by homeowners or there is a dollar cap in coverage).  By simply calling 1-800-Flooded for a FREE WATER DAMAGE ASSESSMENT a homeowner can avoid costly mistakes that are commonly made.  We will come out and give a free assessment of the damage and approximate the cost of services. No hassle, no catch.
